You can’t build winning teams overnight…you start with a great player or two and develop the rest of the guys around them and slowly become a contender the Reds need to take a page out of teams like the Astros who went from losing 100 games to a championship a few years later. They didn’t dump all the star players but kept the leader type guys in the clubhouse for the new additions to rally around and got rid of the bums…right now the Reds have little outside of Votto who is on his last legs – the Reds have little to get excited about for the near future until the Front Office changes direction.

If the Reds ever sign a good player in the offseason all they do is trade Beer because no great camping story started with a salad shirt away to a big market team at the deadline. If we get another name this winter we shouldn’t have any faith in them being here past the trade deadline next year. This is why we can’t win. Would have expected more in return for him though. Basically just a salary dump for half the season. It makes sense but disappointed he didn’t warrant better prospect that just “player to be named” which is just low-level random prospect. This cannot be a good move when you see what they got back! It’s a salary dump to a Cincinnati kid! Be ashamed Williams, because the Reds are not better with this move.

They have just about conceded this season already. And this time they got nothing in return. Once again, a huge mistake. Remove all the fan favorites and leave a team the fan base detests. It is unfortunate that the front office has no clue how to have a supportive fan base. Let me get this straight. People complaining about this trade were pinning their hopes of the reds contending on scooter fricking Gennett?

How can we get better when every year we get rid of most of our talented players. This is why I’m so frustrated with baseball. Until we get a salary cap small market teams will continue to be player developers for the big market teams. That’s why we have salary caps in football and basketball. When is baseball going to open their eyes? Maybe if smaller market teams start folding up because fans are tired of coming out to watch losers.

I’m a life-long Reds fan, but I am getting sick of the current owners getting rid of all the good 60 years of 1960 – 2020 Dallas Cowboys thanks for the memories shirt. This has been going on for the past few years. The time has come for the fans to start talking with their wallets. Maybe then the owners will get the message that fans are sick and tired of being jerked around. The current owners have no desire to build a winning team. They are just sitting back and collecting all the TV revenue and merchandise cash they can get. Why spend money building a winning team if you can make money on TV and merchandising? It’s time for Reds’ fans to let the owners know that maybe the team needs new owners. They trade away every good player they have and get nothing in return.

A ” player to be named later?” Scooter’s worth more than that. Good luck Scooter! Sick of the team formerly known as the Reds! It might be a business but they won’t be getting mine! Sick of them getting rid of fan-favorite players. Wow people are crazy you get a top-notch pitcher for Puig who I loved but they couldn’t afford his contract next year and they need a solid starter. Scooter wouldn’t have been here next year anyway he would have been gone because of free agency so you might as well get something out of him. Personally, I like the moves they made.

Scooter wasn’t coming back next season, Puig wasn’t coming back next season, Roark wasn’t coming back next season. Trade them and get what you can out of them or let them walk away for nothing and then you guys would cry about that. Why are the seats always empty because we never have a steady team. We are a farm team for the rest of baseball, we train them then sell them off. When are we gonna start signing players to long term deals at least 4 years so we can have some sort of foundation to build upon.

Hire someone from outside the organization that is not a relative of the owner/ son/of a former player! Should have traded him last year when we were worse and he was worth something. Always a day late and a dollar short for the Reds. Another dumb trade by the Reds’ “leadership”. When will they show they care about winning and their fans instead of the bottom line?
